Empty Jar and 2 cups of coffee...

This is really very good...read on!!! Nice Forwarded mail

When things in your life seem almost too much to handle, when 24 hours in a day are not enough, remember the story of the empty jar and 2 cups of coffee.
A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, wordlessly, he picked up a very large and empty jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls. He then asked the students, if the jar was full? They agreed that it was.

The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls. He then asked the students again, if the jar was full? They agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more, if the jar was full?
The students responded with a unanimous 'Yes.'

The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar, effectively filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed.

'Now,' said the professor, as the laughter subsided, 'I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life.

The golf balls are the important things - God, family, children, health, friends, and favorite passions – things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full.

The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, house, and car. The sand is everything else -- The small stuff.

'If you put the sand into the jar first,' he continued, 'there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life.

If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things that are important to you.

So...

Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness.

Play With your children.

Take time to get medical checkups.

Take your partner out to dinner.

There will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal.

Take care of the golf balls first -- The things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand.'

One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented.

The professor smiled. 'I'm glad you asked. It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a cup of coffee with a friend.'

Where is HIKE in this Year? :-(

The Hike, Usually given during April or May month. April gone .. May also going to End... Still no news at office.. Even managers they don't have clear picture whether they are going to get any news from higher officials. I am sincerely awaiting for it as Deccan Chargers are waiting for Semis berth in IPL.

Already Indian Top companies like Infosys announced no Hikes/Promotions in this year due to the impact of global meltdown. In the current economic scenario, I guess mostly the companies would be maintaining the same salary nos of the year 2008. And try to reduce the operational cost which is basically cost management. The companies may try to reward the outstanding and exemplary performers in some different way may be.

Some companies have decided NOT to give any salary hikes to cope up market downturn, some have asked their employees to take a salary cut so as there should not be any layoffs, where as some are offering a hike of 7% to 15%, saying that 15% hike will be awarded to employees who have performed exceptionally well in their area of expertise.

Due to Current economy slow down, not Only IT sectors but also Hikes in other sectors also having same situation.

Oh GOD ! - Where is Hike?????

Nice Teaching

First-year students at Veterinary school were attending their first Anatomy class, with a real dead pig.

They all gathered around the surgery table with the body covered with a White sheet. The professor started the class by telling them, 'In Veterinary Medicine it is necessary to have two important qualities as a Doctor: The first is that you not be disgusted by anything involving the Animal body'. For an example, the Professor pulled back the sheet, touched his finger in the mouth of the dead pig, withdrew it and put his Finger in his mouth. 'Go ahead and do the same thing,' he told his students.

The students freaked out, hesitated for several minutes. But eventually took turns putting their finger in the mouth of the dead pig and tasted in their mouth.

When everyone finished, the Professor looked at them and said, 'The Second most important quality is observation. I touched with my middle Finger and tasted on my index finger. Now learn to pay attention…

Moral of the story:

Life is Tough but its a lot tougher when you are stupid
